Order processing
Orders are processed and shipped from Monday to Friday, during the hours displayed on the website. Orders are not processed on weekends and public holidays.
Orders are taken and processed in the shortest possible time.. They are fulfilled in order of entry and subject to available stock.
Although the availability of each product is checked and updated daily, there is still the possibility of ordering a product that is no longer in stock. In this case, when your order is processed, you will be contacted by phone or email to confirm partial delivery or cancellation of the order.
Delivery services
The following delivery services are available:
1. Standard
- estimated delivery time is 2-3 business days;
- fully tracked to delivery point;
- "SafePlace" option available. You can nominate a secure location or a neighbour for delivery when you're not at home;- SMS and/or e-mail notification with the estimated date and time of delivery;
- best price and delivery time ratio.
2. Premium
- next working day delivery for orders placed before 9AM on a working day. No deliveries on Saturdays and Sundays;
- guaranteed next working day or get your money back;
- photo and signature on delivery;
- fully tracked to delivery point
- SMS or email notification of delivery day.
Standard delivery services is available for UK Mainland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Scottish Highlands, and Islands. Please note that deliveries to areas outside the UK Mainland may take slightly longer than the displayed time.
At this time, we do not deliver to Republic of Ireland, BFPO postal codes (British Forces Post Office), and PO Box addresses.
Premium delivery service is available only for UK Mainland.
The maximum weight limit for Premium delivery services is 2kg.
We recommend using Standard delivery service when placing large orders that exceed 2kg.
If your order weight exceeds 2kg, it will be sent using the standard delivery service and we will refund the difference to the cost of services.
Delivery fees
Delivery costs are calculated based on the weight and dimensions of the package, as well as the delivery service selected when placing the order. Delivery costs are displayed before placing the order and vary depending on the delivery method chosen by the customer.
Delivery of goods to you
As soon as your order has been shipped, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with the information related to the order and the estimated delivery time.
Cărți românești will send the products you have ordered, by mail(Royal Mail) or courier to the address provided when placing the order.
The courier is chosen based on the delivery address, weight and dimensions of the parcel, as well as the service chosen when placing the order.
Except for Premium delivery service, the displayed delivery time is informative, not guaranteed, and is determined by the courier company.
In special situations (peak periods, holidays, etc.), there may be delays in the processing and delivery of orders.
Delivery times are calculated from the date the parcel is shipped.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery location is accessible for the courier and has a mailbox or a "safe place" to facilitate the delivery of the package.
The delivery address must be real, correct, clear, and complete. The delivery address must include, as appropriate, the number/name of the house/block, the number/name of the staircase, the number/name of the apartment, the name/number of the street, town, postal code, country, and any other element that helps to accurately identify the delivery location (unit no., floor, basement, attic, etc.).
What if I am not in?
In the event that you are not at home during the delivery attempt, the courier may opt to securely place the parcel in a designated safe location or with a neighbour, or return it to their local distribution hub. You will receive a notification card in your mailbox, detailing the attempted delivery and specifying the current whereabouts of your parcel.
For parcels returned to the courier's local hub, the notification card will provide the hub's address, where undelivered packages are kept. Should you wish to collect the parcel personally, you will be required to present a valid identification document along with the notification card at the hub.
As an alternative, you have the option to reschedule the delivery by using the information available on the notification card, or by reaching out to us to arrange a more convenient delivery date.
Kindly be advised that if two delivery attempts prove unsuccessful, the parcel will be sent back to our main facility.
International delivery
We currently don’t deliver to addresses outside of the United Kingdom.
Product returns
You can return products within 14 calendar days from the moment they were delivered to you by the courier. Before returning the products, you must contact us through the form in the "Contact" section and inform us about your decision to return the products.
Additionally, you can return products by following these steps:
- From the "My Account" menu, choose the option "Order History and Details";
- Select the order that contains the product you want to return;
- Select the product by checking the box next to it;
- Choose the quantity and complete the "Reason for return" field;
- Press the "Request return authorization" button;
- As soon as your return request is authorized, you can print the return form, which you can find in the "My Product Returns" section
Regardless of the return method you choose, you must wait for our confirmation before sending the products back. You will be contacted as soon as possible, and we will provide you with all the necessary details for returning the products.
The products must be returned using a service with delivery confirmation, and you will bear the return costs.
We will cover the return costs only if you have received incorrectly invoiced/delivered products or products with major manufacturing defects.
Since all products are checked before shipping, it is up to cartiromanesti.co.uk to decide on a major manufacturing defect.
If any of the products you ordered has such a defect, please accept our apologies first. Secondly, please contact us within 14 days from receiving the order.
Product return conditions
In any situation (even when the return is attributable to cartiromanesti.co.uk for damaged packages, incorrectly invoiced/delivered products, products with manufacturing defects, etc.), they must be in the same condition, in the original packaging, with the labels intact and together with all the documents (invoice, warranty certificates, etc.) The returned products must be in the same condition as received, without damage or defects (except for hidden defects and excluding defects already reported by the customer in correspondence with cartiromanesti.co.uk).
Products that are part of a bundle must be returned as a bundle.
Books must not have bent corners, damaged spine, stains on the cover or pages.
If the delivered products were accompanied by any gifts, when you return the products, you must also return the gifts.
The customer is responsible for the decrease in the value of the products caused by improper handling and use (absence or degradation of the packaging, product condition, etc.).
If products purchased with a voucher/promotional code/coupon are returned, the applied discount may be deducted from the amount to be refunded for the return.
If an order for which a discount has been applied using a voucher/promotional code/coupon is entirely returned, the customer will be refunded the order amount, excluding shipping costs, and the voucher will become invalid and cannot be reused.
In the situation where an order to which a voucher/promotional code/coupon was applied and contains multiple products is partially returned, the discount granted through the voucher cannot be applied to the remaining products of the order if the order value does not meet the offer or promotion conditions.
